Easter page - My Scraps & More Sketch #70

Happy Friday! And since its Friday there is another sketch release at My Scraps & More Sketch, sketch #70.  At first this sketch stumped me, it's way different then my normal style of scrapping so it was a lot of fun mixing things up and doing something different. Nothing like a good sketch to help us get out of a rut!

For a chance to win the February prize of the Chalk Studio 2 collection pack from MME, complete at least one layout from sketches #67, 68, 69, and 70 at My Scraps & More Sketchs. The deadline to complete and link up your page for this sketch is March 6, 2014.

So Happy - My Scraps & More Sketch #69

Yay, it's Friday and that means it's time for another My Scraps & More Sketch reveal, sketch #69.  I used mists and some Gesso both with a stencil on the background and used the Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday collection for the papers.

Sketch #69

I can't wait to see what you all do with this sketch also!!

You Shine

I made this layout over the weekend for one of the crop challenges at My Scraps & More.  I love this picture of my daughter from last year, she was just about to go to her 1st Daddy/Daughter Valentines dance.
On the background paper I did some modeling paste and stencils and water paints and also stamped some butterflies on it. The papers are from Teresa Collins Friendship and also the Journal-It Girl Collections.

A few close up pictures and you can see the modeling paste a little better too. The chipboard pieces are also Teresa Collins and the title is from K&Company.

Happy Valentine's Day! - My Scraps & More Sketch #68

It's time for another great sketch from My Scraps & More, sketch #68.  I scrapped a picture of our cats right after they both got fixed with their cones of shame on. They were so sad!
I would love to have you come play along with us so I can see your take on the sketch. All you have to do is submit your take on the sketch at the My Scraps & More Sketch blog and you will go into a drawing to win the brand new Chalk Studio 2 collection pack from MME!!  Here is my take on the sketch...

Sketch #68

Don't forget, My Scraps & More 2nd Annual "Love is in the Air" crop starts today in their forum. Hope to see you there!

Getting Messy with Mixed Medias

This poor page! After spending hours applying Gesso, mists, inks, watercolors and paints and drying several times to create the background for this page, I was finally really starting to like it. I printed a picture of my dad, his senior year in high school which was 1966 in sepia and found the papers and embellishments I wanted to use.  I had everything in place and just needed to glue them down but decided to go to bed and decide in the morning, if I still liked how everything was placed.
Well, in the morning I had discovered that one of my cats had knocked over the cup of water I was using for the watercolors onto my page.....Grrrrr! Most of the mists and watercolors had been washed away and the page was now all warped and dads picture was ruined too.  So I dried the page again, printed a new pic of dad and did the best I could to re-add the mists and watercolors. I still like how it came out but the colors were more vivid before it had a bath.

Pretty In Pink - My Scraps & More Sketch #67

The background on this page kinda started out as an experiment. But then I just kept adding, mists, paint, molding paste and stamping on it and after awhile I really started to like it. Getting messy is fun! I had no plans for the page since I was really just messing around with different medias. But then I was looking at the My Scraps & More Sketch that I got to work with this week and that was just posted on their blog today.... and well here is the outcome of it.

Here is the My Scraps & More Sketch #67 that I was working with.

Papers - Basic Grey Eva & White Cardstock
Alphas - Pink Paisley (pink) & Paper Trunk (white)
Embellishments - Prima (pink flower), Graphic 45 (leaves), DCWV (camera),
Maya Road (clock), Pink Paisley (washi tape)
Others - stencils, misting, paints, stamping, molding paste, distressing, inking

Picture Perfect

Hello grunge! It was fun making this grungy page of Trevor sitting on the rocks next to Lake Tahoe. I used the Bo-Bunny Mama-Razzi Collection and I really love the film strip ribbon I used from Tim Holz.

I used this weeks sketch #66 from My Scraps & More Sketches. It was a great sketch to work with, check it out!
