I made it! Let's Get Sketchy Design Team

Woo hoo! I am so excited to announce that I am a new member of the Let's Get Sketchy Design Team. The ladies on this team are so talented and I am honored to be able to work with them. For the design team call we had to create a page with the sketch below. First I airbrushed some rust and tan colors with Copic markers and then used some molding paste with stencils to create the flower bursts on the background paper. Sprinkled some black color shine and then did some stitching. Used some Scrap Within Reach Urban Garden papers that I have been hording for awhile and used some Basic Grey chipboards, some twine and this is what I came up with.

Just Hanging Out - Scrap the Boys

There is something about messy grungy boy pages that I have fun creating. Maybe it's getting to make a mess that I like so much, I really don't know but I have always really enjoyed creating them and am usually more drawn to them in galleries too. So when I saw that Scrap the Boys had this grungy/messy challenge on their blog I just had to do it.
I started out with a solid piece of red cardstock and with a stencil I airbrushed with a black Copic marker to get the black dots in the background. Then with the same stencil I used some Gesso, slightly moved the stencil to smear the Gesso some as I didn't want it to be in a perfect dots like the Copic black dots. I then flicked some black and red color shine.  Inked up the edges, ripped it a little and did lots of distressing. Distressing can be soooo destressing sometimes!

Let's Get Sketchy DT Call

I don't know if you have noticed or not yet, but I love sketches! Let's Get Sketchy has awesome sketches for those days you need some extra inspiration or just want a fun sketch to follow. To top it off they are also having a design team call! If you love doing sketches like I do and also love to inspire people then follow the instructions below and then click HERE to apply.

Lets Get Sketchy is looking to add 2-4 more members to our already fabulous Design Team.  The DT term will run from June 15 through Sept 15.  You will be responsible for at least 2 layouts a month as well as commenting on entries each week.  I am only looking for dedicated members.   

If you are interested and would like to be considered for a position then here is what you need to do:

Why apply for our team? 

• To be inspired and to inspire others 
• To be on the ground floor of an up and coming blog 
• You will be a part of an amazing group of women and develop lifelong friendships with women from all over the world. 
• Your work will be featured on Facebook and Pinterest. 

What is expected of our Design Team? 

• You MUST be a follower of our blog
• Complete 2 projects a month (you will be given challenges at least a month in advance). 
• Comment on participants entries (THIS IS A MUST!).  Any team member not adhering to this rule will be promptly removed from the team so please make sure you can do this before applying. 
• Commit to a 3 month term (Beginning  June 15th to the September 15th.) 
• Keep an active blog that is updated frequently 
• Post our challenge and your project on your blog on reveal day and link back to the LGS blog.

How to apply:

• Leave a comment below indicating you would like to apply 
• Tell me a little bit about yourself to include your style and whether or not you are on any other design teams. (no previous DT experience required) 
• Add our link and DT call to your blog
• Provide links to your blog and any online galleries. 
• Include 3 projects that best represent your style. 
• Create a layout from the sketch below
• Place our DT call on your blog to help get the word out.
• You MUST have a Facebook account as we will have a private DT group on Facebook

We are accepting applications through May 30^th.  New design team members will be notified by June 1st.   This is an open call, what that means is, I have the right to close this call at any time if I feel all the positions have been filled.    The first reveal will be June 15th. . I know this is a short turn around however; the first challenge will be easy. I promise you!

No previous DT experience needed.

My Girl & A Horse - My Scraps & More Sketch #82

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Got any exciting plans for the weekend? I don't have anything planned here except maybe to get some scrapping done. I let my daughter pick what pictures I should use and also let her give the page its title. I always have the hardest time thinking of titles for pages so it worked out well having her think up one for me ;)

Karate Kid & Halloween 2013

A couple pages I did for some challenges over at My Scraps & More.  The 1st one was a sketch from the sketchathon challenge #5. The twist to the sketch was to add a creature to our page. So I did a halloween page of my daughter with some spiders, bats and a ghost.
The 2nd page was a pass it on challenge. The reveals to this challenge are always so much fun seeing all the different takes on the pages.
