Cards

Here are a few cards that I have made recently. I need to post more of my cards I create, don't know why I haven't been.

These 2 cards I colored with Copic markers, I love to color!

On this next card I made the flowers by using Heartfelt Creations diecut and then stamping with some white embossing powder on pink velum.

The "Love" card was published in the Let's Get Inspired Issue 4 Magazine!

Pic Of The Day - Let's Get Sketchy

It's Monday and Team B is up at Let's Get Sketchy today with a brand new sketch! Head on over and check it out! Here is what I came up with for the sketch.....
I for some reason was having the hardest time coming up with the right papers for these pictures of my kids, nothing seemed to look right to me. Then I finally found this bright Heidi Swapp Favorite Things paper in my stash and then I did my typical "messing" it up with some Gesso, mists and perfect pearls mixed with water and layering other papers and a bunch of little embellies and viola. It all finally came together!

Here is a close up of the title I stamped from MME and the cute American Crafts epoxy button.

I really love these Heidi Swapp puffy stickers. They add dimension and character to your pages. I also found these Elle's Studio tags hidden in my stash that I decided to use.

Some more MME stamps I used.

Love this Face - My Scraps & More Sketch #87

Happy Friday! Today I have a layout I did using the My Scraps & More Sketch #87 that is on their blog today. It's always a challenge for me to use so many pictures on a page even though I really need to do it more often for a lot of pictures I have so this sketch was perfect for me.
Instead of using paper for the background strips I decided to paint some corrugated paper and stamp it onto the background. I like making my own backgrounds.

I airbrushed the tip of the flowers with Copic markers.

go See do - A Cutt Above

I am excited to announce that I am one of the new design team member for a new Etsy store and challenge site called A Cutt Above.  A Cutt Above's Etsy Store offers great die cut embellishments for use in your electronic die cutting machine. The files come in PNG, Studio and SVG. There will be a new challenge on the 1st of every month, so make sure to stop by so you can play along with us.
Now I have to be honest, its been a few years since I have brought out my Silhouette and Cricut, I actually had to dust them off a little. I am so glad that I did though, I forgot how much fun they are. For my design team reveal I used the cut file "go See do." on  my layout. This title just seemed to go perfectly with my daughter jumping off of a 2 story pier into the ocean. She didn't even stop to think about it, she just went.

Here is a close up of the go See do cut file I used. I wanted the title to look like sand so I airbrushed some Copic markers onto them to give a kinda grainy look and then on the very edge I used a dark brown just to outline the die cut a little. The I stuck it down with some pop dots to give it a little more dimension.

Birthday Fishes Card - Turtle Soup

For the challenge today at Turtle Soup for their 1st Birthday Bash Crop is to create a Birthday card. Sounds easy enough, right? Well there is a twist! You need to use some kind of a critter on your card. On my card I used a turtle but you can use any kind of a critter. Examples would be any kind of animal, insect or even a monster of some sort just as long as it's critter like. I would love to see your critter cards and for playing along with us at Turtle Soup you might even win a prize.

Holy Meringue - Turtle Soup

The 1st Birthday Bash Crop and Turtle Soup is happening now. Make sure to stop by and check out all the fun challenges and games that are going on all month long and lots of prizes are being given away to those who participate. So what are you waiting for? Head on over to Turtle Soup and check it out.
Today's challenge is a great sketch by Bev Code. This is not my typical scrappy style since flower clusters and I in general do NOT get along. They just never seem to look right to me when I do them. But, since I have drawers and drawers full of flowers I figured I really should try and fix this love hate relationship flowers and I have and try to use them.
For the title I didn't have the right color yellow so colored some white alphas with Copic markers and used a little distress ink on the edges. I also used some distress ink on the edges of the red and tan background paper and also tent small sections on the corners and used the distress ink on the seams to give it more of a distressed look. Behind the pictures I brushed some yellow watercolor paint and also sprayed some mists.
How about a slice of Lemon Meringue?

Smile - My Scraps & More Sketch #86

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!  and Happy Friday for all those who don't celebrate it!
I used the My Scraps & More sketch that was revealed today for this layout of my daughter. I didn't like how I couldn't see her precious smile because of that darn binky (pacifier) in her mouth all the time so I came up with the silly idea of taping a smile to her binky. Every time I look at this picture I can't help but to smile and giggle a little...lol
