Beautiful Girl - Let's Get Sketchy 5th Week

Hello everyone! Today over at Let's Get Sketchy there is a 5 week challenge instead of a sketch and the challenge is to make a monochromatic page. I went with greys and blacks for my page to go with the picture of my daughter. I really love how this page turned out!

From Canvas Home Brand I used some French Script on Ivory Tissuestock on the background and behind the picture. I mixed a little of Tattered Angels Black High Impact Pigment in with some white Gesso to create a light grey and to also adhere the tissue to my background.

I took a white Prima flower and sprayed it with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Silver Sugar. Love the silvery shine this mist has.

You can see more of the light grey Gesso I made by mixing in some of the Tattered Angels Black High Impact Pigment into it. I just used an old gift card to apply along the edges of the torn papers. Once it dried I lifted up a few of the torn edges of the papers to give it more dimensions.

I got these butterflies by using a stencil and some modeling paste mixed with a lot of the Tattered Angels Black High Impact Pigment. I could of just used the High Impact Pigment but I wanted it to be a little thicker so I mixed it with the modeling paste. Also on the background you can see one of my favorite stamps by 7gypsies. To give my page an all over shine I sprayed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Abominable Snowman, this mist is awesome to add a little glimmer to any project.

Baseball - Let's Get Sketchy

Merry Christmas Eve! I have been so busy this week doing a bunch of last minute things trying to get ready for Christmas that this is the 1st time I've turned my computer on in days. That is normally unheard of for me...lol
Today I would like to share a page I did for Let's Get Sketchy using the latest sketch on their blog.

On busy or dark backgrounds I like to use a lot of Gesso to tone it down some and so that the main focus of the page, the pictures stand out more. Here I did one of my favorite ways to apply Gesso to a page and that is by using an old gift card.

I then sprayed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Ruby Slippers onto a Styrofoam paper plate and took a lid from a jar and dipped into the mist and randomly stamped it only my page. Then did some splatters and drips with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Beetle Black.

No idea where I got these red wood bingo pieces but they were kinda fun to use to add dimension to my page. The stars were punched from a piece of cardstock that had a football look and texture on it. No clue who it was made by, I've had it for over 5 years.

The sketch I used for my inspiration.

Product List:

Patterned paper:  Bo Bunny
Embellishments: Bingo wood pieces, Bo Bunny
Mixed Medias: Gesso, Tattered Angels

This Is What It's All About - Let's Capture Our Memories

Hey there! Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Today I have a layout I created using the Let's Capture Our Memories sketch #101. This last month my daughter and some of her friends collected everyones leaves in their front yards and transported them into our front yard just so they could play in them and bury themselves in them. Crazy kids! It seemed like a lot of fun until they had to clean it all up and put them into bags...lol So I figured with the mess they made in the front yard a super messy page was in order for the background and it was sooooo much fun to do!

I started with some Gesso, a stencil and an old gift card to spread the Gesso. Then sprayed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in English Ivy, Tattered Leather and Crocheted Doily. I then flicked some of the Tattered Leather and also some Olive Vine over that. Once dried I spread some gold 3D paint lightly with the gift card. I think the final result is pretty cool and funky! And aren't these Elle's Studio Sycamore Lane leaf cork shapes super cute?

I love this rub-on and vellum by Crate Paper Open Book.

Little Monsters - My Scraps & Mores Sketch #96

Hey everyone! New sketch reveal over at My Scraps & More Sketches with the guest sketch designer Diana Fisher.
Since everything seems to Christmas layouts these days I decided to do a Halloween page. :)  One of the 12 days of Christmas challenges in the My Scraps & More forum is to use a grey background and make it pretty. Well, I am not sure how "pretty" I made it but I had fun doing it. I used a new stencil I had gotten recently with some modeling paste and then randomly sprayed some Dylusions Squeezed Orange onto the grey Core'dinations background.

I had a 12x12 Canvas Corp Brand Black Burlap Sheet that I cut up and frayed the edges of it a little and placed it behind the pictures and paper layers. I love the black burlap with Halloween pages!

Beautiful - Let's Get Sketchy

Well it's Monday again, not sure if that is a good thing or not yet...lol One good thing about it being Monday though is that Let's Get Sketchy has another sketch reveal up today. I also had a ton of fun playing with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam & Tattered Angels Plain Jane Stained Glass.
My Scraps & More also has the 12 Days of Christmas challenges going on. On the 5th day was to add some gold for 5 golden rings so I added some gold for that challenge too.

I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam in Golden Goddess & Camel I love the glitter it added to the background. Then over that I added some Tattered Angels Plain Jane Stained Glass in Orange, it added a nice sheer color over the Glam without covering it up. I also sprayed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Iridescent Gold which just added some extra shine. Then I drew some birds onto the background in place of the banner on the sketch.

Behind the picture I added some Canvas Corp Brand Ivory Burlap Fringe. I'm also really loving these gold 3D stickers from Pink Paislee Solstice.

The sketch!

There is a new sketch reveal up over at Let's Capture Our Memories. Lately with the holidays in full force around here I haven't been able to get as much scrapping done as I would like so it is nice to be able to sit down with a good sketch to help get the creative juices flowing.

Of course I had to add some mists onto the background, I love my mists! I used some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Coffee Shop, Black Cherry and It's Black

My embellie hog posh! I had fun layering these all up.

Best Friends - My Scraps & More Sketch #95

Hey everyone! When I first saw the sketch over at My Scraps & More Sketches the 1st thing that came to mind was retro. So I found this selfie picture of my son with one of his friends and went with the retro theme...kinda!
I used the Cosmo Cricket Cogsmo collection that is actually a little boys robot themed paper and embellie collection. I got this paper collection when my son was little thinking I would use it for one of his little boy pages. Who knew I would end up using it for when he was a teen instead...lol
On the background I scrapped some Gesso with a credit card to tone the paper down some and then flicked some Beetle Black Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels and then tapped the page on its side to create a few drip runs with the mist. I cut the hand drawn circle out on my Silhouette Cameo.

For my flower cluster I used some retro like circles and then layered up some retro like flowers I found in my stash and I couldn't find the right color blue flowers in my stash so I used some white ones and sprayed them with some Vintage Blue Plain Jane Simple Sheer by Tattered Angels. Then airbrushed them with some sprinkles of black Copic Markers.

One of the challenges over in the My Scraps & More forum was to used an alpha that is at least 2 years old. No problem! Almost my entire stash of alphas are at least 5 years old...lol  So I found these 2 Thickers alphas in my stash that I had in the light blue and the black and came up with the great idea of layering them up on top of one another to give them a shadowed effect. I kinda like how it looks.

I did some random stapling in the corners, popped up some random circles and then outlined them with a black pen. I used the lid to my black pen and stamped it onto a ink pad and then stamped it randomly around on my page.
