Be Yourself - Let's Get Sketchy 5th week

Hello scrappy friends! Since there is 5 Mondays this month in September, Let's Get Sketchy is having a 5th week challenge for the month. The challenge is to do a selfie page.... ugh! lol  I don't normally do pages with me as the main subject so this really was a challenge for me. This is what I came up with....
I added some paint in with some Modeling paste and a stencil to get the blue dots on the background and also used the plain white modeling paste to get the white chevron texture on the background. Sprayed some mists to get the drips and layered a bunch of Fancy Pants Meology papers up.

Eggs To Dye For - Let's Get Sketchy

I decided to be a rebel and do a Easter page for the Let's Get Sketchy challenge that is up today, since so many challenges out there right now all want fall themes and colors. Plus, I have been on a mission lately to use up some of this old stash that I have. It always seems like I get new stuff and use that and keep ignoring all the old. Guess we all kinda do that, huh? lol

Ready, Aim, Splat! - Red Carpet Studio

Today I have a page that I created for Red Carpet Studio, the challenge is to use any Robin Williams movie as your inspiration. So I used some pictures of my son and hubby paintballing with the movie "Good Morning Vietnam" as my inspiration for it. I did some major grunge work on the background of this page. I used lots of mists, distressed stamps, modeling paste, crackle paint and crinkled, wrinkled, ripped and distressed it to death. The poor paper went through a major battle! lol
I cut the crosshairs, grenade and title all out on my Cameo. Pop dotted up the picture block and used bits and pieces of some cork. I wasn't so sure about this page at 1st but it actually ended up being a rather fun page to create.

Red Belt - My Scraps & More Sketch #91

Yay, it's Friday! Not only is it Friday but there's also a brand new sketch up on the My Scraps & More Sketches blog today and the sketch is one that I designed. :) I am the featured sketch designer on the blog today, you can find more out about me by going to the post here.
The pictures I used are of my daughter the day she became a red belt from a brown belt in karate. One more testing and if she passes she will be a black belt, which is quite a huge accomplishment at the age of 8!
I decided to go with a black, white and red theme to go with her red belt and found this lace cardstock hidden in my stash. Remember when that stuff used to be really popular? I've never really been good at figuring out what to do with them. I cut this one into a circle and I really like how it looks. I also used some super old papers from 7 Gypsies. I'm happy to finally of found a use for those papers and to also use up more of my stash.

I cut the title out on my Cameo, I'm really loving making my own titles lately.

I created this card using Gus the Golfer digi image and colored him with Copic Markers.

Picture Perfect - Colorful Creations

Today I have a sketch from Colorful Creations to share with ya all. Colorful Creations is also having a design team call, so if you love to scrap and also love to work with sketches then you will love this team. So what are you waiting for, the call ends on Sept. 23!!
On the background I sprayed some mists and also used a brick stencil with some modeling paste and then after it dried I painted the paste with some watercolors to give the rustic brick look. This picture of my kids was about 7.5 years ago on our cruise to Alaska. Since it was a formal picture I went a little more formal with my papers and embellies then I normally do. I always love the looks of Webster's Pages but for my scrappy style I am normally at a loss as to what to do with them. I do though like how this came out with the bricks on the background.

Day of Beauty - Let's Get Sketchy

Another girly page! They still are not as easy for me to do as the guy pages but I keep trying. :) I also used glitter this time and now I remember why I don't like using glitter. Its been a week and am still seeing sparkles everywhere from it...lol All the glitter and pink just seemed to go with the beauty salon theme I was trying to create for these pictures of my daughter of me highlighting her hair and then color the ends a bright pink. It was the 1st time she had ever had her hair colored. I used the Let's Get Sketchy sketch that is up on their blog today.

My Sunshine - GD Frosted Designs

So excited! Today I am up on the Frosted Designs blog as a Guest Designer! I love their challenges and also their monthly kits. Stop on by and visit them if you haven't already!
I made this layout for my reveal of my daughter with some pictures of her when we were in Belize this summer. She found this pretty yellow flower and wanted to wear it behind her ear for a picture but the wind kept blowing it off before I got a picture. It was one of those moments that you just have to laugh.
I like to mix things up and very rarely will use all of the same collection on one page. On this page I used 2 collections from Studio Calico - Brighton Pier and Lemon Lush and the background paper is Heidi Swapp Dreamy. I used a sunburst stencil on the background with a darker color yellow mist in the center and a lighter yellow towards the end of the rays. Did some sewing around the edges and lots of paper layers. Then added a bunch of random embellies I had laying around.

Totally Random - My Scraps & More Sketch #90

The 1st sketch of September is up over at My Scraps & More, sketch #90.  Lots of circle on this sketch! So I made a mat by cutting circles out on a white cardstock with my Cameo. I used rectangle pictures instead of the circle pictures, I just couldn't bring myself to cut the pictures up that much. I found some Little Yellow Bicycle papers I have been hoarding to use for my sons pictures.
I hope you all join us at MSAM, I would love to see your take on the sketch!
