Today's challenge is a great sketch by Bev Code. This is not my typical scrappy style since flower clusters and I in general do NOT get along. They just never seem to look right to me when I do them. But, since I have drawers and drawers full of flowers I figured I really should try and fix this love hate relationship flowers and I have and try to use them.
For the title I didn't have the right color yellow so colored some white alphas with Copic markers and used a little distress ink on the edges. I also used some distress ink on the edges of the red and tan background paper and also tent small sections on the corners and used the distress ink on the seams to give it more of a distressed look. Behind the pictures I brushed some yellow watercolor paint and also sprayed some mists.
How about a slice of Lemon Meringue?

ReplyDeleteP/s: I used to have a problem with flower clusters too but I'm hooked now!
Lemon meringue is one of my favorites and wow that's a lot of meringue! Love your page. The papers compliment your photos perfectly. Your title, water coloring and inking look fantastic, and the cute gingham trim is a wonderful touch.
