1. What am I working on?
Right now I am working on a DT page using the Cameo. I recently have brought out my die cut machines, dusted them off and started using them again. I am really enjoying them. I forgot how much fun they can be! I am really loving being able to cut out my own titles.
2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
My style I would say is eclectic but the one thing that I have on almost all of my pages is some kind of paint, mists, ink, gesso or modeling paste. My pages are just not complete unless I make some kind of a "mess" on them. I tend to either use bold bright colors or really dark grungy colors. I love grungy!
3. Why do I write/create what I do?
Every since I was a kid I used to keep everything, tickets to concerts, newspapers clipping from the sports teams I was on, invitations, little things from school dances, basically anything and everything that I felt was a type of a memorabilia. Back then I used to just tape the items with scotch tape or used a glue stick to stick the things down into a scrapbook.....Ugh! that was such a bad idea but I didn't know back then. After school I pretty much stopped scrapping till after my son was born. I wanted to document his childhood in something other then just your typical baby book. I now have a son and daughter and they both are my inspiration for scrapbooking. I want them to have something that I made for them and to be able to share with their kids someday.
4. How does your writing/creating process work?
Most of the time I start with the pictures and then find the papers and embellies that best match. Unless it's a collection that I am dying to play with then I will start with that and then search through all my pictures to find the perfect ones to go with it. Once I have paper and pictures picked out I make a mess out of my background paper and then I start cutting and layering my papers up. I don't glue anything down until I am sure I like how it looks 1st. I almost always have way too many embellishments out but ya just never know what ya may need. I am a very slow scrapper and it takes me forever to make up my mind if I like the page or not. It's quite common for me to just leave the page, come back to it the next day and then decide if I still like it before sticking anything down. I might have some slight OCD issues...lol
Here are the creative blogs/blogger I have tagged. They will be sharing more about themselves next Monday - August 11th on their blogs. Make sure to stop by and show them some love!

I first met Devra at My Scraps & More but got to know her better once I joined Let's Get Sketchy. Devra has a playful scrappy style that I really love.
I've been paper scrapping since I received my first scrapbook for my birthday in 1998. I love how the hobby continues to evolve, giving me reason to try new things, and evolve as well. If I had to describe my style, I'd say "adaptable". I enjoy trying the new trends and techniques (some more than others) and like to see how I can make them work for me. I am the Family Manager to my two boys, my husband who has his own music collection that rivals my scrap collection, and our dog, a yellow lab named Snickers. Pretty much nothing happens in this family without me! They all are the primary subjects on my pages. I am never at a loss for new material with these guys. Me? I also read, enjoy long walks with my dog, a night out with my friends, live for baseball season, and am always dreaming of the beach.

I began scrapbooking in the summer of 2009 during my second maternity leave. My goal, originally, was to document my kids, their growth and preserve those precious memories. But I soon fell in love with the creative process, and my pages will have a lot of hidden journaling. My style is รข€¦ well I have various styles from a clean to linear to shabby chic, I am now getting into mix media. From a creative perspective, I love inking, layering, distressing, masking, fussy cutting, matting, stamping and.. ok there is not too much I don't like to do. Sketches play a huge part of my creative process. I find scrapbooking and crafting very calming and therapeutic. I am a paper hoarder. I will be honest. Papers are my passion. I have a hard time using it at times, so I buy double. Ok who am I kidding, if I see, I will love it, and smell it, and drool over it and then hide it in the special paper drawer to oogle over it later.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I always love the sweet comments you all leave for me.
