I have so many boxes around my house that I am always keeping for one reason or another but then never seem to use them for what I was saving them for. So I figured why not make things out of them.
I made this cute Easter door hanger out of one of the boxes. You can also make it out of wood but I didn't have any wood or the tools to cut wood so the cardboard was easier for me and I am upcycling. :)

I first started by making a bunny template and then tracing it onto a piece of cardboard. If you are really talented you can freehand draw it but I am not so I found a cute one online that I could print out.
This is the template that I used...
After tracing the bunny I used a craft knife and cut it out. Then I painted the cardboard bunny with some white Liquitex Gesso. Once the gesso was dry, I then painted it with some DecoArt Baby Blue Acrylic Paint. Then let it dry.
I used a circle punch to cut several circles out of the StyleTechCraft Gloss Vinyl in Sky Blue and stuck them randomly on my bunny.
I took a white chalk marker and traced around the punched out vinyl circles. I also went around the outside edge of the bunny in small sections and smudged it with my finger so the lines were not as hard. I repeated this step with a black chalk marker too.
Then using my Silhouette Cameo and Silhouette Studio Designer I cut out the words "Welcome Peeps" in StyleTechCraft Vinyl in Matte Black. After I cut the words out I transferred them to the StyleTechCraft Paper Transfer Tape and stuck them to down to the front of my bunny.
For the nose and eyes, I used a hole punch and punched 3 circles out of the Matte Black vinyl. Punched some holes in the ears to add a ribbon to hang the bunny from and hot glued some ribbon on the neck of the bunny to create a fun bow.

I design for several companies because I genuinely love their products! Anything I recommend on my blog is something that I genuinely love and regularly use. I buy most of my own supplies. However, I do receive some free products to work with, and I sometimes make money for the projects I make. I DO NOT get paid for product reviews, I give my honest opinion about the products I use, and I will never recommend a product that I do not like or would not use.
