Hello! I am always trying to find new ways to create fun backgrounds for cards. In January, Ken Oliver showed me this technique on how to use ColorSparx with stencils while working in The Crafter's Workshop booth with him.
Some of the products I have used in this post have been provided to me by various companies. The opinions I share are solely my own. Affiliate links may be used where possible at no cost to you. However, I do earn a small commission when you click on my links and make a purchase from them. Thank you, and I appreciate your support!
Below is a video tutorial showing exactly how I created my project.

I started with some The Crafter's Workshop TCW9051 Watercolor Paper and The Crafter's Workshop Floral Spectacle Stencil. Sprayed some water using the Ken Oliver Spray Water Bottle over the stencil onto one piece of the watercolor paper. Then I flipped the stencil over and pressed the wet side of the stencil onto the other piece of watercolor paper.
I used The Crafter's Workshop TCW9058 Alpine ColorSparx® Powders and squeezed the bottle so a light puff of the powder went over the wet surface on the watercolor paper.
Once they were dry, they were ready to be made into cards. Since the background kind of reminded me of a tie-dye look, I decided to use the Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps Harmony stamp on one card. I stamped it with VersaFine Clair in Nocturne and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.
For the other card, I used Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps Feelin' Groovy stamp and colored it in with Copic Markers.
The Crackerbox & Suzy Stamps that I used are 15% OFF right now along with all of the other new stamps from their Remember the 60's release. Discount will automatically be applied once the stamps are added into your cart. BUT.... There is more! I have a code for you to use that will give you another 10% OFF making it a total of 25% OFF! Just use the code Release10 at checkout.
Interested in the products I used? Products that are still available are linked to multiple shops below, for your convenience.
Lists may contain affiliate links where possible at no cost to you, what so ever. Affiliate and product disclosure can be found here.
I design for several companies because I genuinely love their products! Anything I recommend on my blog is something that I genuinely love and regularly use. I buy most of my own supplies. However, I do receive some free products to work with, and I sometimes make money for the projects I make. I DO NOT get paid for product reviews, I give my honest opinion about the products I use, and I will never recommend a product that I do not like or would not use.
