Canvas Corp Creative Crew ATC Swap From Around the World

Hello, today I have some ATC cards I created for the Canvas Corp Creative Crew ATC Swap. This was such a fun swap and involved the creative crew members from around the world.

I started with ATC size pieces (2 1⁄2 x 3 1⁄2) of kraft cardstock. I then applied some modeling paste with a stencil. Randomly stamped some gears using Imagine Crafts StazOn Ink in Jet Black. Then sprayed several different colors of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. Flicked some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam in Bon Bon over the glimmer mists.

Using gear dies from Spellbinders and black cardstock, I sprayed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Tattered Leather and then painted and flicked on more Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam in Bon Bon and heating with a heat gun until they started to bubble up. The bubbles give it more of a rustic look.

I cut strips of canvas and colored them with Tattered Angels Chalkboard Mist in Jade and adhered by stapling the ends of it to the ATC card. Then attached the gears with some 3D foam.

Thank you for looking and happy crafting!

DIY Kitchen Decor With Canvas Corp Brands

Creative DIY pieces are so fun to create and so fun to show off.  I created this special piece that will fit perfectly into just about any kitchen, with a rustic feel and vintage style colors.  My shadow box was also part of Canvas Corp Brands CHA 2016 booth design and was used as an example of how cool their printed fabric panels are and how they can be incorporated into craft and DIY projects with ease.

7gypsies Shadow Boxes are available in 12×12 and 8×8 and also have inserts available to give the shadow box some fun dimension.  Nadine used chicken wire in her design which is a great layer for the printed fabric background.

Directions:
Step 1: First cut a piece from the Farmhouse Kitchen Canvas Fabric Panel to fit within the shadow box. Paint some of the images on the canvas piece with some Tattered Angels.  The art is screen printed on the panel making it perfect for water-based paints.  All Tattered Angels paints are waterproof when dry except the mists, which are created with a high percentage of water, but for items that are not designed to be washed they work amazingly well on fabrics, with the color becoming even more brilliant than on paper.  You will love the results.  Color a few of the art pieces or color them all in, you decide.  Any of the Tattered Angels paints will adhere and work great on the fabric, giving you different textures and dimensions.

Step 2:  Sand down the shadow box to give it more of an aged look. This is not required when painting finished wood with Tattered Angels Decor & DIY Paint or High Impact Paint, but to get the rustic look you can do so before, after or before and after and you will achieve an aged look that is very appealing.  Place the panel inside the shadow box.

Step 3:  Cut a piece of chicken wire to fit inside the shadow box and staple it to hold the canvas and the wire in place.

Step 4:  Paint some wooden spoons (you can find them at any mass retailer, and they are so inexpensive) with Tattered Angels Décor & DIY Paint in Jade. Tattered Angels Decor & DIY Paint and High Impact Paint, work wonderfully on raw and finished wood surfaces.  Then randomly paint the chicken wire in places with the same paint. Drill some holes in the handle of the spoons and hang inside the shadow box with some small hooks.  High Impact Paint is also great for metal surfaces, so if you only have gold or painted hooks you can paint them up to match your design palette.

Step 5:  Paint the shadow box with the Tattered Angels Décor & DIY Paint in Jade mixed with a little water.  You can add water to any Tattered Angels paint to create a thinner washed effect, and you can also mix the paint colors to create your own colors.   After finished painting the box, wipe it down with a dry cloth taking some of the paint off to give it a worn or white washed look.

Tattered Angels DIY paints are the perfect choice when creating DIY home decor projects where you can choose the colors that work for you, allowing you to paint onto virtually any surface and making clean up so simple – just soap and water.   No sanding, priming or top coat required and all Tattered Angels paints are non-toxic so you can work indoors, no need for masks or ventilation when creating!!!!
