How To Make An Inked Herringbone Home Decor Wall Art

For the month of May, Imagine challenged us to exchange tutorials and create each other's designs in order to see how each of us interpret style and choices. We had no idea who designed the project, nor did we get any images of their project.
I got Roni Johnson's directions and I loved creating this project! Even though this project was not something I would have ever thought of making on my own, I really enjoyed making it. I didn't have all the exact same products that she used but was able to improvise with no problem. Besides, I prefer not to copy something exactly and put my own twist on things.

Watch my video tutorial below to see how I created my ink herringbone background.

Green is my favorite color and the greens on this piece from the Kaleidacolor Fresh Greens Ink Pad are so rich and vibrant, I love it.

To finish my project up I glued on some Gold Metallic Joy Iron On Embossed Letters and then put it in a frame.

An Easy Emoji Notebook

Make a fun emoji notebook that kids of any age will love! Emoji's are the thing these days with kids and even some adults! Joy has some of the cutest emoji embroidered faces that worked perfectly to customize this denim notebook I had. The denim notebook cover can easily be made out of some old jeans and Joy® iron-on letters and emoji's are available at local craft stores.

You will need:
  • Joy® Iron-on Embroidered Letter sheet - Fluorescent Yellow
  • Joy® Iron-on Embroidered Emoji's
  • Denim Notebook
  • Iron

Referring to the directions on the back of the packaging, iron each letter and emoji to the denim notebook with an iron.

Joy iron-on, embroidered letters and numbers are available in a variety of sizes, colors, and fonts at your local craft stores.

Santa Hat Chair Cover with Joy

Instead of having the standard place cards on your table setting this year, how about personalizing their chair with a festive Santa hat place setting?

You Will Need:

Joy® Iron-on Embroidered Letter - White
Santa Hat Chair Cover
Iron

This seriously could not be an easier project! I got the Santa hat chair covers from the Dollar Tree and all I had to do was iron the letter in place following the directions on the letter sheet package. Super easy! You can also glue the letters in place with fabric glue if desired.

The letters look just like as if they were embroidered on, no will know the difference! :)

DIY Personalized Farmhouse Christmas Stocking

Hello! This Christmas instead of buying a premade Christmas stocking how about making a DIY personalized Farmhouse Christmas stocking using a Canvas stocking from Canvas Corp and an embroidered letter from Joy?

Did you know the white letters from Joy can be colored? Once you have your canvas stocking decorated the way you like, take your white Joy embroidered letter and spray it with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist or your favorite spray color. It may take a little while for the letter to dry but once dry, iron the letter in place following the directions on the letter sheet package. Easy Peasy! You can also glue the letters in place with fabric glue if desired.

Below is a video tutorial showing how to made my Christmas stocking.

Thanksgiving Pumpkin Decoration

Hello, crafty friends! After Halloween is over I like to keep a few Autumn decorations up around the house and before all the Christmas ones go up. This pretty Thanksgiving pumpkin decoration is perfect to put on a mantel or table.

You Will Need:

Handmade or Store Bought Fabric Pumpkin

There are lots of cute fabric pumpkins in the stores at this time of year, or you can simply cover a craft pumpkin with fabric to make your own.

Once you have your fabric pumpkin picked out, remove the letters you need from the letter sheet, then iron the letters in place following the directions on the letter sheet package. Easy Peasy!  You can also glue the letters in place with fabric glue if desired.
